On the eve of Fr Erviti jayanti  and International Women Day a “Lokotsav 2023” was jointly organized by St Xavier’s Social Service Society -SXSSS and Ahmedabad Kamdar Suraksha Abhiyan -AKSA -A Federation of the community based organizations at Dimond Jubilee Hall in the premises of Loyola Hall. The theme of Lokostav 2023 was “Sangathan Vividh Sanskrutiono Samanvay”. Over 1145 women and some children from 97 slums were present for the cultural boanza.

Ms Nutan K Vijh was the Chief guest and Mr Krishnakumar Vijh, Mr Vedprakash Agarwal and Mr Donald Mark the former students of St Xavie’r Loyola Hall were the Guest of honor. Frs Francis Macwan and Isaac Rumao highlighted the significance of unity, solidarity and motivated the people through their short speeches. The Chief Guest Ms Nutan Vijh  appreciated the good work carried out by the women in their respective slum areas and motivated them through her speech.

The highlight of the day was the Cultural event which was organized by the women of 97 slums. Some of the leaders both women and men shared their personal experiences concerning the developmental interventions done by them for the wellbeing of their community. Women belonging to different People’s Organization put up cultural programs to exhibit the blend and integration of diverse cultures and traditions that co-exist in their respective areas. The key message and highlight of the program were of promoting peace, unity in diversity and equality. Program was ended with delicious dinner served to all the participants of the day.
